The majority of Forensic Nursing and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Programs are designated to only provide an acute medical forensic nursing care response within a short time frame after an assault. Within those programs, follow-up services for the patient are often not part of the forensic nurse program's responsibility which cn result in a gap in service or decreased continuity of care for patients after an acute medical forensic examination. This webinar will provide the knowledge and benefits of follow-up services provided by forensic nurses and options to consider for program design models.
